The Role
This is a unique opportunity to join Forgent AI on the ground floor as our first Product Manager. You will be a core member of our founding team and own complex product and commercial problems end-to-end. You'll operate at the intersection of our customers, technology, and business, partnering directly with the founders and our engineering team. As an early member of the product team, you’ll help make key decisions on the direction we go from here and have the opportunity to shape both your role and the company's product culture as we scale.
What You’ll Do
- Own the lifecycle of core product initiatives from inception and discovery through to launch and iteration, partnering directly with engineering to ship world-class AI products.
- Tackle unsolved AI problems by diving deep into complex challenges- figuring out how to build and scale agents for high-stakes enterprise workflows.
- Get hands-on with AI. You won't just write tickets; you will actively test and refine our product, applying know-how in prompt engineering, context management, and AI evaluations to make the technology useful.
- Engage with customers directly to discover requirements, gather feedback, and become a trusted partner to their business.
- Shape the product roadmap side-by-side with customers, founders, and the engineering team to scope new features and define our direction.
Who You Are
- 3+ years of experience in product management, software engineering, consulting or a related role.
- You have exceptional product sense and user empathy. You can look past the surface of a feature request to uncover the root problem, distilling noisy feedback into high-impact product insights.
- You are technically savvy. You don't need a CS degree or coding skills, but you have a strong technical curiosity. You are comfortable communicating with engineers, testing out prompts and exploring the product's capabilities.
- You are customer-obsessed, with an ability to anticipate user motivations, pain points, and the specific value AI can deliver to their workflow.
- You are a strong communicator who can use both qualitative and quantitative reasoning to explain your ideas and decisions.
